The concept of Nashville Thai Massage (NTM) began almost two years ago as my dream of a future business. Having just learned this magical art form known as Thai Massage, i envisioned a place devoted to promoting this healing art. Although i had this dream, i was not in the position to open a brand new studio by myself so i chose instead to work for a major spa here in Nashville and get some experience in the business and working with clients before stepping out on my own.
In November of 2011 the dream finally came to reality, however, as i opened the doors at 631B West Iris Drive! Nashville Thai Massage is now open full time!

Thai Massage, also known as Thai yoga massage is a growing trend in the massage world right now! Featured in Shape magazine as what Jennifer Lopez likes to splurge on! Unlike table massage, Thai massage is performed on a soft floor mat. The client wears loose comfortable clothing and the practitioner gently guides the client through a series of yoga type stretches while using acupressure and deep compression to loosen and open the body. It feels like getting a massage while doing yoga! A typical reaction after the massage is one of complete peace and serenity. A feeling of wholeness with yourself and your body is not uncommon, and the body itself feel loose and comfortable and DEEPLY relaxed.

I began school at Natural Health Institute here in nashville in sept. of 2008.  I chose NHI because of the deep commitment to teaching and the focus on healing work and technique.  The staff and instructors were amazing and all had a tremendous amount of talent and passion for teaching it.  Shortly after beginning school i took an elective class on Thai Massage taught by Jon Mandeville.  I was immediately hooked.  i was truly blown away by the ability of this work to alter the mind and body of the client as well as that of the provider.  It was intensely profound.   Before the first class was even over i signed up for his Thai Practitioner Program he was teaching through his TheraThai business.  This five level course provided me with the education to be a Certified Thai Practitioner.  I ended up finishing his program roughly the same time as NHI and so left as a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Thai Practitioner.
