About the Business

• We are the proud owner of a competition grade Yoder smoker, imported from Kansas, the mecca of BBQ. There's only two Yoder smokers in the whole of New-Zealand, and four of them in all of Oceania. The offset chamber design of the smoker is perfected by award winning smoke masters and keeps the smoke flowing at even temperature.
• We are very fortunate to have a special license permitting the use of Pōhutukawa wood for our smoker. The Pōhutukawa tree, also known as the Christmas tree, holds a prominent place in Maori mythology and is an important symbol for New-Zealand. The Pōhutukawa is a protected tree, but our license lets us use trees that have fallen or are dead.
• We are also very proud to showcase New-Zealand craft beers to our customers. We are not bound to any brewery, so we have the liberty to offer a diversified range of selected kiwi craft beers and we are also able to offer a different range every so often.

Miss Moonshines is all about meat,craft beer,fire & of course a little moonshine! A dream come true for meat lovers and fans of the ‘low n’ slow’ method, slow cooking, wood smoking, quality NZ meat. Our philosophy centres on honoring the American BBQ pit with the Yoder Smoker directly brought from Kansas and enhancing it with New Zealand fresh produce, smoked with Pohutukawa. In essence, we are an American BBQ restaurant with a kiwi Twist.
