About the Business

Founded in 2015 by Daniel Janetos, our Chef and Head Foodie grew up with asthma and an exhaustive list of allergies (too many to list). Daniel went to bed every night wearing a medical ventilator mask and took three inhalers just to get through the day. After completing a culinary diploma, degree in hospitality, cooking at Michelin star restaurants internationally and an elite level athlete as a football player, Daniel built his immune system, strength and gut health, overcoming asthma and beating all of his allergies. Daniel continued his restaurant training to become one of the nation's top Chefs as an ambassador for Kitchen Aid, filming with Marilyn Denis, The Discovery Channel and on Food Network Canada. Daniel wanted to create a brand to share his life accomplishments. Merenda.Kitchen was created as a tool for living a healthy, happy, energetic life without having to go on diets or sacrifice flavourful food.

We are a health inspired fresh casual concept that offers fresh food made-to-order with some Italian ingredients as well as fresh juice, smoothies, pizza and a few sweet treats as well. Merenda.Kitchen offers exceptional value serving high quality ingredients focused on local, organic and sustainable suppliers. We believe in serving delicious food that restores your energy levels at a great price. At Merenda.Kitchen, we believe flavour is important but health is equally important. We have partnered with nutritionists, dieticians, elite athletes and doctor's in order to create a menu which helps us to restore our energy levels, make our bodies run more efficient and ultimately make us happier! We let you choose the right balance of carbs, fat and calories to suit your personal needs and ensure that all of our ingredients are of the highest quality so you can't go wrong. We donate a percentage of our profits to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Network of Ontario
