Byron (along with his then-girlfriend now-fiancee Lauren) started Mariner Brewing after having graduated with an Environmental Science degree from Simon Fraser University. An avid homebrewer, it had long been Byron's dream to open Coquitlam's first craft brewery, and when regulations finally allowed it, he found his opportunity and Mariner was born.
