Founders, John & Lori Lecker spent 3 decades owning and operating the Italian giant, United Colors of Benetton stores in the Southeast. They decided to develop their own concept due to a niche in the market for middle aged women who want to look and dress modern, not frumpy and older. The first location was opened in Amelia Island, Florida with tremendous success doubling projection. The Leckers knew they had a winner and subsequently converted 2 other Benetton locations in the Carolinas to the new fresh successful concept, lori+lulu.

Lori Lecker is a Florida State graduate with a BS in Fashion Merchandising.  After beginning her career as a Store Manager for United Colors of Benetton, she turned around 3 brick and mortar stores from bankruptcy to top stores in the state of Florida.  Lori was afforded an opportunity to be a store owner in Charlotte NC after writing a letter to Mauro Benetton and describing her passion and accomplishments with the company.  Shortly after, Lori married John Lecker and the team brought the Southwark Mall store to one of the top 10 stores in North America dollars per square foot.  Lori has an undying burning desire to succeed and using the buying, staffing, training and merchandising skills learned from her tenure at Benetton, has taken the best lessons and applied them to her own concept lori+lulu.  lori+lulu is an original name based on the love Lori had for her once in a lifetime Bichon Frise, Lulu.  Lori came up with the name after putting her little girl down as a result of cancer.
