About the Business

In the 1970's Lip's new midtown location was home to the legendary Little Hippodrome and La Vie En Rose Supper Clubs, both famous for hosting outrageous drag performances. The final live performance of the Glam Rock group The New York Dolls was held here in March of 1975. The show "Pouff" followed with years with near nudity, drag queens and five overhead trapezes with no nets. In the 80's and 90's the space was home to Bill Hongs, an infamous chinese restaurant by day and illegal casino by night.

After 13 years at its origianl home in the West Village, Lips - The Ultimate in Drag Dining moved on up the The East Side to its new home which has been reviewed as "Ken and Barbies dreamhouse on acid."
