About the Business

Van's was founded in 1980 and acquired by Mr. Kemp in 2005. He refocused the business in 2011 into engineering consulting and concentrated on energy conservation, reestablishing the company as Lighthouse Energy Company and partnering with Doug's Industrial Refrigeration company. During this time he continued to maintain an electrical service department, which continues to grow and add electrical expertise.

Bruce Kemp spent the first 25 years of his career as an aerospace propulsion engineer, working on a variety of Air Force and Nasa programs in jet engines, solid and liquid motors. In 2005 he decided to pursue a small business career, and acquired Van's Electric, quadrupling the revenues and ultimately morphing it into Lighthouse Energy Company in 2011.
