About the Business

At La Polenteria we are not just passionate about healthy and good food. We believe that sharing a good meal with family, friends or with our loved one should be an important part of our daily busy life. So, in 2014 we decide to bring to London a whole new concept which unites the best tradition from North Italy, together with a fusion cuisine which as a main ingredient has la polenta: corn flour cooked in hot water with a pinch of salt and twisted in many exciting, very tasty and healthy dishes. We also aim to show that "Gluten Free" or "Free from" do not mean that something is missing, but that it is simply a different way to approach the food, delivering exciting, still very tasty and healthy dishes.

Leggero is a new brand identity that reflects the evolution of the company along with its vision for the future and the values that shaped our concept: healthy, homemade, delicious Italian recipes with a cosmopolitan twist 100% gluten-free. Since the opening in December 2013, we have been constantly focusing on our customers' needs, collecting feedbacks, experimenting new recipes, improving our concept whilst offering a unique experience. Unique, is one of the key-words which describes "Leggero" best. In fact, we are proud to be the only Italian entirely gluten-free restaurant in the UK accredited by Coeliac UK, providing an authentic Italian menu suitable for vegans, vegetarians, foodies and those with dietary allergies. "Leggero"in Italian means light. Healthiness, taste and freedom go hand-in-hand with quality, love and passion: that's what is all about. Our customers can freely choose from our menu without worrying about diet requirements, allergies and digestibility. With the new brand, while presenting new scrumptious courses, our most popular dishes will still lie at the heart of our menu: homemade pasta and ravioli stand out among a wide range of options between mains, small plates and appetisers. What about weekends? Brunch lovers have a new destination: from 11am to 2pm "Leggero" will deliver a gluten-free tailored offer.

I spent 11 fantastic years there, covering different roles, starting as stagiaire doing copies (not black and white, but colourful one, so my future looked bright since day one) and then ending as Managing Director and head of the team.
