About the Business

Lava Cantina in The Colony opened on May 4, 2017. We are a locally founded, owned and operated family business, and this is our first full scale restaurant and concert venue. We have taken a tremendous amount of pride in building a completely one-of-a-kind restaurant venue with original art and a fully from scratch Creole menu with a slight Mexican twist! The Creole food is inspired by our family heritage out of South Louisiana, and our passion for live entertainment comes from the father and son duo - Ian and Steve! Steve being a long time musician and Ian being surrounded by it his whole life! Lava Cantina was originally founded as a small restaurant in Baton Rouge, LA featuring great food, drinks and live music, and has now expanded full scale into Texas where Ian lives today. We feature premium entertainment from the awesome local artists all the way to the touring national acts.

Ian V has worked in the restaurant industry his entire career and has always held a strong commitment to quality and service; however, due to his father's influences, music has been a passion that they both have shared. Steve V has been in the music business for over 40 years and has always had a passion for great tunes, most notably rock n' roll. Like many career musicians, Steve held a day job to support and raise his family for over thirty years.
