About the Business

La Tortilleria was founded by Gerardo, a recent immigrant from Mexico City, and Diana, a traveller passionate about Mexico culinary heritage. Together they dreamed to bring the artisan craft of corn tortilla making, and real Mexican street food to Australia. Using all Australian-grown corn and the ancient Aztec 'nixtamal' recipe, La Tortilleria produces Australia's best and most authentic corn tortillas and supplies to Mexican restaurant across the country. Their flagship venue in Kensington serves up authentic Mexico City street food and sells their famous corn tortillas, totopos and other Mexican grocery items.

Established in 2013.
