About the Business

Here at Kincaid's, we're as proud of our heritage as we are of our burgers. We've been a Fort Worth institution for over 65 years - ever since Charles Kincaid opened his grocery store on Camp Bowie.

Business really started to sizzle in 1964 when market manager O.R. Gentry began cooking burgers on a single grill using excess beef. Burgers quickly outsold groceries and Gentry bought the store, which his family runs to this day.

Kincaid's stopped selling groceries in 1991, but the restaurant's heritage remains integral to its charm. Patrons eat at wooden picnic tables or stand-up counters, former grocery store shelves that are still stocked with vintage goods. Nostalgic photos and clippings cover the green cinder block walls.

It's not only Kincaid's atmosphere that's remained unchanged: the award-winning burgers are still made exactly how O.R. Gentry made them. Doing things right the old-fashioned way has made Kincaid's the Fort Worth classic "where friends meet to eat."

Established in 1946.

Specialties

It's no secret why Kincaid's hamburgers are so good. We use the absolute finest USDA Black Angus chuck - all-natural, vegetarian-fed, and completely free of hormones, antibiotics, and preservatives. Plus, our beef is never frozen, and it's ground fresh daily at each Kincaid's location. We cook the half-pound patty to perfection on our flat-top griddles, put it on a fresh hamburger bun, then add mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions. The result? A juicy, old-fashioned Kincaid's hamburger that's won numerous "best burger" awards. Kincaid's also offers classic Southern sides such as crinkle-cut french fries, fried okra and home-made deviled eggs.

Business Owner

Ron G. (Business Owner)

Kincaid's Hamburgers is still owned and operated by the Gentry family like it has been for over 40 years. Ron Gentry, the son of founder O.R. Gentry, took over in 1991 and runs the business with the help of his wife, Lynn, and his two sons, Jonathan and Christian. Together the Gentry family works to uphold Kincaid's mission of serving customers the perfect old-fashioned hamburger with genuine Southern hospitality.
