About the Business

Junto is a Spanish word for Together. Clare and Michael sweat tears of joy and heartache together in 2008 designing, building and fitting-out the building, transforming it from a Karate Studio to a modern Cafe.
It was a nine month incubation before the doors opened in the December of 2008. It wasn't to be the only incubation at Junto, as there were two additional 9 month incubations resulting in the birth of Archer in 2010 and Harvey in 2012.
We're a family-run business and a destination for families, singles, couples, large groups and dogs. We support our community including schools, kindergartens and sporting clubs as well as major fundraising events.
Our focus of homemade food is a testament to our heritage of hearty cuisines made by hearty people.

JUNTO is a convivial hub and modest cafe for the community. Our modern furnishings, generously sized tables, warm vibes and serene courtyard enhance our character and your experience. Devour the lovingly crafted cuisine or indulge in our handcrafted treats. Experience our freshly roasted MERLO coffee, bringing a little Queensland sunshine to Bentleigh East. The Junto kitchen is open from 8am to 3pm, offering an all-day breakfast & lunch. There's an assortment of specials from our deli-fridge selection or specials menu. Our emphasis is on good quality house-made meals at affordable prices. Our delicious handcrafted treats & sweets (all preservative and additive free, some gluten-free) precede our reputation. Children are enchanted by our homemade cookies, handpicking their favourite gingerbread before scurring off to the courtyard blackboard. Others savour the food that "Tastes like nana used to make".
