In 1990, as a young engineering student at the University of Rhode Island, Ben made a life shaping decision when deciding to change course and pursue his passion in culinary art and when joining the renowned University  of Johnson and Wales in Providence. After graduating with honors in 1994, Ben moved to Washington DC where soon after he met Bethanya, a lady  who will be his best friend, his wife, and the mother of his two children. In February of 2003, Ben and Bethanya opened "JoJo Restaurant and Bar" with a simple vision of serving "great food". Over the years, much remains the same..  Ben holds fast to his ideals of great service.  He often reiterates "If you treat people right, if you serve good food, people will come back".
