About the Business

I have worked throughout the construction trades for most of my life. I began working for my brother's company, Glenn E. Garis, Inc., in 1974 and stayed with that company until it was dissolved in 1999 due to my brother's illness with cancer. I learned many skills including concreting, framing, trimming, siding and eventually supervision of small and large housing developments, including Banbury Crossing in Montgomery County.

Although I have always counted it a tremendous privilege to work for my family, I had a dream to form my own company to serve customer's needs in the areas of additions and remodeling. JG General Contractor, Inc. began as my own venture and has enjoyed a steady increase in business, as well as many customers whom I now consider as friends. I have strong interpersonal skills and love working with the customers to bring their dreams to reality. I take great pride in quality work and attention to the customer's needs.

I have worked in the construction trades since the age of 19 and have first hand experience in many aspects of the construction process. Eventually, I was asked to move into the realm of management. I have many years of experience in managing the building of custom homes, large & small renovations and in working with customer, suppliers and subcontractors. My goal is to make sure that your project is handled efficiently and that it is completed in a timely manner and to your satisfaction.
