Bob Clark & Greg Lalonde chose Iron Horse Plumbing as the company name in honor of Bob's late father Doug Clark who had ALS (Lou Gehrig 's disease) - Lou Gehrig was a New York Yankee who was diagnosed with ALS (an incurable neuromuscular disorder now commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.) He was known for his prowess as a hitter and for his durability, a trait that earned him his nickname "The Iron Horse".
