Originally opened as Barry's Blacksmith Shop in 1915. In 1929 the business became known as Barry's Garage (gas station) and continued operating in Cobble Hill and surrounding area, until owner Gerald Barry's passing in 1985. Barry's Garage was reopened in 1990 by Gerald's nephew Keith Barry. Ian Tait a close friend of the Barry family started his apprenticeship here in 1990. Ian purchased the business in 2005, and is currently known and operated as Ian Tait Mechanical Services.
