About the Business

House of Lamps & Shades was founded in 1969. We have evolved from a lamp and shade shop into a 13,000 sq. ft. decorative lighting showroom. We take pride in having over 100 years of lighting experience in our staff. We moved to our current location at 11690 Beach Blvd in 1996 and cater all locations in Jacksonville and the Beaches area.

My first job, at age 5, was to make sure the used light bulbs still worked.  After spending many summers helping out at the store, I graduated high school and headed down to Gainesville.  After graduating college I went to work for a lighting manufacturer called Quoizel.  I spent 2 years as their National Director, Tour De Tiffany.  I traveled the lower 48 and set up Tiffany art glass shows in a different city every week.  I eventually took over a sales territory in the Midwest and was based out of Kansas City.  I spent the next 5 years traveling the Midwest,  North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa. In 2006,  I returned to Jacksonville and partnered up with my father.
