1516- The Bavarian Purity Law for beer is established.
1589- Hofbräuhaus Beer was founded by Herzog Wilhelm V. von Bayern.
1591- The first Hofbräu brewery is completed and the Master Brewer Heimeran Pongraz from Geisenfeld produces first quality beer for Munich.
1810- Bavarian King Maximilian I. Joseph throws a huge city festival to honor his son; today the annual event is known as Oktoberfest.
1828- The first restaurant open to the public is opened in the Hofbräuhaus.
1879- The world famous trademark -HB mit Krone- is registered in Munich.
1897- The famous building of the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is completed.
1935- Wiga Gabriel from Berlin composed the world famous Hofbräuhaus song; name changes from Königliches Hofbräuhaus (The Royal Hofbräuhaus) to Staatliches Hofbräuhaus (The State-owned Hofbräuhaus).
1966- Renovations of the entire building start; Hofbräuhaus becomes main attraction.
2003- Newport, Ky. opens the first Hofbräuhaus in America.

This local entertainment attraction strives to provide a truly authentic Bavarian dining and entertainment experience for guests of all ages and cultures. A fun and family-friendly atmosphere in the Bier Hall features live music and entertainment.There is also a separate dining room for guests who prefer a quieter dining experience, or for those who wish to reserve space for a special occasion or party. In addition to American classics, many traditional dishes are prepared with ingredients specially made for the Hofbräuhaus or imported from abroad. The Hofbräuhaus pays particular attention to its beer, and its German Brew Master supervises the production of four authentic varieties plus seasonal specialties.The restaurant is located in the Southside Works and overlooks Pittsburgh's beautiful waterfront with the city skyline as its backdrop.
