1516- The Bavarian Purity Law for beer is established.
1589- Hofbräuhaus Beer was founded by Herzog Wilhelm V. von Bayern.
1591- The first Hofbräu brewery is completed and the Master Brewer Heimeran Pongraz from Geisenfeld produces first quality beer for Munich.
1810- Bavarian King Maximilian I. Joseph throws a huge city festival to honor his son; today the annual event is known as Oktoberfest.
1828- The first restaurant open to the public is opened in the Hofbräuhaus.
1879- The world famous trademark -HB mit Krone- is registered in Munich.
1897- The famous building of the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is completed.
