Designer and co-owner of Hoes and Ditches Rosarie McHugh studied fine art in Ireland and continues to practice as an artist which greatly informes her garden design through color, texture and scale. Rosarie has worked as a gardener in San Francisco for 15 years working for many different companys and also studying horticulture at City College of San Francisco. Co- owner Shane Fahy, also hailing from the Emerald Isle, has worked at various companies as a gardener, landscaper and in land management/restoration for 7 years. He keeps up to date on the latest techniques at Merrit Colleges Landscape horticultural department  and at Urban Farmer.
