About the Business

In November of 1990 Green Cuisine opened it's doors in Victoria's Market Square. It had been my dream for years to open a vegetarian restaurant. After successfully answering an ad in the local paper for a fully equipped restaurant for lease I maxed out all my credit cards and here we are 24 years later thanks to our loyal local following and visitors from around the world.
As long as you all keep showing up we will keep all the good food coming!

We are a 100% vegan self serve natural foods restaurant. You create your own meals at our buffet from our carefully prepared selection of hot and cold foods. Our style of cuisine is centred around fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, beans and nuts and seeds. By offering a blend of international cooking styles and traditional comfort foods we have something for all tastes, whether you just want a light salad and a fresh juice or a hearty meal, hot and spicy or lightly seasoned, you select it the way you like it. We use the finest natural and organic ingredients and prepare everything from scratch, we bake all of our own cakes, pastries and snacks, most of which are gluten free, make our own live sauerkraut and pickles and we even make our own tofu and tempeh. We have lots of comfy seating so you do not have to reserve, come as you are, we are very casual, families of all ages can enjoy our kids area. Our goal is to offer tasty, healthy, reasonably priced food, we hope you enjoy it

Hi, I became a vegetarian 30 years ago when it dawned on me where meat actually came from. Since the age of 18 I have worked in vegetarian restaurants and food businesses. Starting at the bottom as a dishwasher in the local veggie restaurant in Newcastle, England I have worked my way up gaining extensive experience in natural foods cooking, baking and food processing.
