About the Business

Evangeline's was the first tenant in the historic building, The Howard House (1863) when Old Sacramento was undergoing reconstruction.
We opened just in time to catch the Disco craze. Then we caught many other crazes along the way. We expanded into the even more historic building next door, the Lady Adams (oldest building in Sacramento!) and then The Costume Mansion opened in the upper 2 floors in 2000 and is now open year round. That's about it for history.

Besides all of our LOL merchandise we carry anime/kawaii gifts, metal and foam swords for cosplay or display, kitchen gadgets, Dad joke books, tutus for your princess, fortune telling decks, framed tattoo flash art, gothic handbags, hippie dresses and hemp bags. Explore the Rave Cave for flocked blacklight posters and those glow stars to put on your bedroom ceiling (loved by every generation). In the Naughty Nook you will find foul language merchandise (away from the kiddos), gifts for pot lovers and "bachelorette" novelties. For the holidays we excel at providing you with lots of options for stocking stuffers and White Elephant gifts. What? No costumes?
