Etro Lounge has been established now for almost 2 years. Opening in the tail end of January 2007 with a small staff. We added our covered patio in August of 2007 following with a more recent expansion into our upstairs bar in January of 2008. We are currently furthering our expansion to add on an additional upstairs lounging area as well as preparations for a future kitchen.

Etro Lounge is a neighborhood bar & lounge, geared towards the educated social drinker, located in the west side of the Montrose neighborhood. The interior is truly unique, more so what you would expect to find in some of your upper midtown establishments but with an industrial twist. We however are definitely different from those establishments. The clientele is very laid back and friendly. Music during the week is played from our mp3 mix and varies from indie, elctro and 80's underground. Dj's spin Thur. thru Sun. nights with the same taste in the style of music. (would not recommend us if you're looking for the trendy music scene of hip-hop and commercial radio play). But for those of you who are looking to get away from the typical commercial scene, you should definitely come visit us and make up your own mind. Etro Lounge has 2 bars, one downstairs and one up that is open on the weekends. We have a spacious covered outdoor patio as well as a more intimate lounging area upstairs.

Reese H. is the owner of the establishment as well as the designer and (along with the help of his brother) builder of over 90% of the interior. Reese wanted to bring a unique concept to life here in Houston that would exemplify a completely different attitude and environment. His concept stemmed from years of experience in the bar and nightlife industry. Utilizing his artistic and craftsman skills, Reese embarked on building his dream here in Houston. "I wanted to create an artistic environment for people who are artists or who appreciate art and music. A place that is not entirely driven by commercialism." Reese has thus far succeeded in bringing his vision to life for a very accepting Houstonian clientele and family of friends.
