About the Business
Enoteca Sileno was founded by Luigi "Gino" Di Santo who was one of the first people to start importing foods and other goods from Italy to meet the demands of the growing community of European immigrants. He played a pivitol role in introducing Australia to espresso coffee, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, truffles, mineral water, panettone and other Italian festive foods that are now commonplace. Gino was also the first person to import Italian Wines and make wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Amarone, as well as hundreds of Italian liqueurs, available to Australian customers.
