En Tout Cas produced the world's first all-weather sports surface in 1909. En Tout Cas surfaces have been used since throughout the world at international sports stadiums, Wimbledon, Old Trafford and the 1948 Olympics.

The world's first sub four minute mile was run on an En Tout Cas track. The business has been owned or managed by three generations of the Shepherd family since the 1940s.
