About the Business
In 1980 Les Harvey, the creator of Parnell Village, asked some children what he should build here at 237 Parnell Road.
They suggested a toy house. He asked if it should be big enough for an elephant!
So this is how "The Elephant House" got its name.
In the beginning it was set up by Les's wife, Zena, an avid potter, and she and several of her like minded "crafty"friends operated it for several years before it evolved into its present format.
