About the Business

Our company began operations trading under the brand, Hot Dollar, in the year 2000. The first Hot Dollar store was established in Westfield Hornsby Shopping Centre and became an instant success. The vision was to create a comfortable discount variety store experience with clean and open aisles, and at the same time, offering unmatched discounts to its customers. The concept was received remarkably well by the Australian public.

Since its establishment, the company expanded into three brands: Hot Dollar, Top Bargain and Dollar King. The Hot Dollar brand became a prominent variety chain across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. As the company grew, we discovered there was a need to communicate what we represented through the branding of our store. Our savings became so big and beneficial to customers, they were simply "king" sized.

From September 2011, Hot Dollar began operating under the brand Dollar King. The first flagship store was opened in Market City in the
