About the Business

Din Tai Fung was founded in 1958 as a cooking oil store by Mr. Bingyi Yang and his wife.
When tinned cooking oil was introduced in 1972, the oil store business was threatened. Mr Yang decided to adapt a little corner of the business into making and selling Xiao Long Bao.

Due to the quality of the dumplings and through
word-of-mouth the business attracted many customers,
steadily growing into an international success.
