Colonial Parking was founded in 1953 in Washington, DC by two George Washington University graduates, Thaddeus Lindner and Sergius Gambal, who had the foresight to envision the development of Downtown Washington into a world class real estate market. Seizing upon opportunities to convert vacant buildings and raw land into income producing properties for their owners, Gambal and Lindner gradually grew a one-lot company (25¢ a day!) into what is today a company recognized as an industry leader and the largest parking operator in Washington, DC.
