About the Business

Arguably one of Australia's more famous car dealerships, City Ford has been an influential and iconic business operating in Sydney since the company's inception in 1974.

In 1988 Geoff Polites had forgone his executive positions at Ford Australia to run City Ford. Polites remained at City Ford until 1999 when he became the president of Ford Australia and was instrumental in reinvigorating the Ford Falcon, spearheading the Ford Territory and converting Craig Lowndes from Holden to Ford in the V8 Supercar series.
Currently City Ford is owned by the Australian Automotive Group and is operated by Brent Polites (Geoff's son). In 2011 City Ford moved locations from Crown Street into Zetland and the previous building is now a supermarket, boutique stores and residential apartments.
