About the Business

In 1944, Christine Valmy began transforming ingredients from her garden into natural skin care treatments.

In 1961, Ms. Valmy immigrated to the US from Romania, and in 1965, opened the first esthetics school in the country.

Ms. Valmy earned the title "First Lady of Esthetics." She led CIDESCO, opened beauty schools globally, wrote acclaimed books, and was recognized by the US Congress for "her contributions to education in America [...and for] creating a new, exciting avenue of careers for the young people of America."

In 1972, she joined her daughter, Marina, who launched a product lab where they fine-tuned techniques and formulas, remaining true to their mission of natural and effective skin care.

Today, Marina leads the organization. In 2018, she brought it into an exciting new chapter by opening a new location in Time Square. Constructed from the ground up to realize Marina's design vision, this state-of-the-art facility institutes the largest esthetics school in the world.

In order to prepare students to transition into a professional environment, our more seasoned students perform supervised treatments for the general public, so facial, body and nail treatments are available by appointment. We also offer a robust schedule of advanced courses for professionals, including topics such as Laser, Microblading, Chemical Peels, Eyelash Extensions, and more. The Christine Valmy suite of all-natural skin care products - invented and produced in our own laboratory - is used by our expert instructors to teach the formulas and ingredients that best enhance the health and function of the skin. These results-driven products are also used in our treatments and sold onsite and online to consumers and spa and salon professionals.

Marina Valmy was born in Romania and is the daughter of Christine Valmy, who was considered the pioneer in skin care in the United States. As the heir apparent to Christine Valmy, Inc., which was established in 1961, Marina was exposed from an early age to all aspects, practices, and innovations of the skin care business including salon management, educational training and laboratory operations. Led by Marina Valmy today, Christine Valmy, Inc. operates the leading esthetics schools in New York City and New Jersey, as well as manufactures cosmetics in-house in New Jersey. Marina's personal mission is to enhance the beauty and health of the skin through the development of education, novel techniques and cutting-edge products using the finest ingredients in botanicals.
