I started off as a decorator from leaving school and did various projects, when one day I was working on a big site with different kinds of tradesmen where I realized I can do a variety of work instead of just the one trade. I now employ anything from 5 - 55 tradesmen from around the country doing all different calibre of projects. I now just project manage after coming off the tools over 4 years ago, what enables me to keep an eye on all the projects we undertake. My early days of being in the trade and multi skills which I now carry for over 30 years means theres nothing that we at checkmate can't do. Our motto is the only time we were beat is when we were not on the job, plus we are only happy on completion of any job if the client is happy.
