About the Business

The Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County Parks and Recreation acquired the 10 acres where the Sportsplex now stands during a land exchange between the City of Nashville and Hospital Corporations of American (HCA). In February 1990, the Centennial Sportsplex opened its doors to fanfare. From 1998 trough the beginning of 1999, the NHL Nashville Predators Team negotiated a deal to locate their team practice facility at the Centennial Sportsplex. They added a second sheet of ice to the existing ice arena along with a state of the art training facility. The new additions opened in February 1999. Later that year, Les Speyer family donated $1.2 million to build a four-court indoor tennis facility in honor of Ruthelia Lott Buchi, a dedicated member of the Metro Park Board from 1980 to 1990.

In June 2014, Metro Parks built a new, two story fitness and tennis complex that has an indoor running track, group exercise room, strength-training room, and new locker rooms.

Established in 1990.

Hello, Everyone! I am the Media & Marketing Coordinator for the Centennial Sportsplex. I am the one who manages our online presence through sites like Facebook, Pinterest, Yelp, and, of course, our official page on the Metro Nashville website, nashville.gov. I would recommend everyone check us out, especially on our website and our FB page. There you will find details about all of the activities that we offer, updated schedules, class offerings, and much more. Also, please feel free to visit our Front Desk where we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks so much for reading and we look forward to welcoming you to our facility in the future.
