About the Business

Casa Mezcal opened in 2009 as the first Mezcaleria in NYC. It was founded by Ignacio Carballido, Restauranteur and Mezcalier and the famous Mexican painter Guillermo Olguín, who’s joint vision was to integrate art, music, traditional and modern Mexican cuisine and an extensive variety of mezcal and agave spirits from all around Mexico in one communal place.
In 2021, the restaurant took a turn to adapt to new trends; chef/Restauranteur Florian Hugo and Mexican mixologist and designer Jacqueline Piccini were added to the family with the mission to put Casa Mezcal back on trend with updated cooking techniques and creative mixology while still preserving the authenticity of the Mexican culture it strives to promotes and represent.

Casa Mezcal is true to the authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine. Serving a range of dishes designed to pair with our craft cocktails and wine selection, the menu offers very traditional dishes such as Chile Relleno, Mole Oaxaqueño and Tlayudas. There is also a phenomenal selection of well crafted street foods: tostadas, tacos, esquite, soups and quesadillas. The menu also offers sharing dishes including Guacamole, Aguachile, Queso Asado. The bar carries one of the most extensive selection of mezcals in New York City. Whether you are looking for a craft cocktail or a Mexican wine, Casa Mezcal has 14 years of experience serving mainly mezcal based beverages from innovative mixes, to twists on classic old school cocktails, Micheladas and fresh made aguas frescas. We also re open our speakeasy in the basement offering a different vibe and focus on classic cocktails. Join Casa Mezcal for lunch, live jazz Brunch Saturdays, or dinner 7 nights a week.
