About the Business

Established in 1999

British Military Fitness was founded in April 1999 by Major Robin Cope, Corporal Will Skinner and Serjeant Harry Sowerby as an alternative form of group fitness training to gyms. The idea was, and still is, to get people of all fitness abilities outdoors, training in parks across the country

Established in 1999.

Business Name

British Military Fitness - Lloyd Park

Specialties

British Military Fitness offers fun and effective outdoor fitness training for all fitness abilities. Beginner classes are available at every session - perfect if you're new to fitness or just starting out. While many people refer to BMF as a boot camp, it was never the intention to make BMF intimidating or a 'tough and hard out bootcamp'. The military aspect instead is related to the motivation, support and encouragement you'll receive from the highly trained instructors.

Business Owner

Harry S. (Business Owner)

Harry Sowerby, who previously founded BMF in 1999 after completing his Army PTI (Physical Training Instructors) course, was tasked with the idea of setting up a company to deliver British Army style fitness classes whilst working on the set of Saving Private Ryan. The model was to offer the training to the general public at local parks with the first class held in Hyde Park in April 1999.
