Erich grew up in Upstate New York where he learned to be an electrician by working alongside his father.  He went to the University of New York at Buffalo where he majored in Biology and Anthropology.  After college, he spent some time working in New York City but left in 1996 and lived in Hawaii for a few months before finally settled down in Park City, Utah, where he has lived since 1997.  He opened Behr Electric Company in 2000.
