Established in 1992, Babu Catering and Take Out is a pioneer in the Thamil food industry. Arriving as refugees in the late 1980s, Babu saw a need to introduce a taste of Eelam to the growing Thamil diaspora. Over the span of 25 years, Babu Catering has grown in services and menu selection as well as catered to the needs of many different communities. As a refugee who received social assistance during the first few months of his arrival in Toronto, Babu has used his platform as a community business to support local schools, hospitals and community initiatives, as a way to show his gratitude to the country which welcomed him. At Babu Catering, we not only specialize in traditional Thamil food but many other India, Hakka, and East Asian dishes. To improve our food experience, we also invited renowned Chef and multiple Guinness World Record holder, Chef Damu, to revamp our menu and introduce his signature dishes to our menu.
