About the Business

Chef Duangja (Kitty) Thammasat
Kitty began cooking simply because she grew up helping her mom, Boonhing prepping noodle soups for the factory workers in Pichit, Thailand. At the time, they were the only food cart in the factory. When Kitty moved to the U.S., she opened her grocery store specialized in Thai goods. Not satisfied with the grocery store, she found herself cooking at home and selling it at the store. The Thai communities in Elmhurst were surprised how delicious her foods were. In 2008, she decided to open her Thai Restaurant under her daughter’s name Ayada. It became an instant success. New York Times had called “At Ayada in Queens, the Heat of Thailand”. Zagat called Ayada “Real-deal Thai food in New York”. Ayada is in Michelin Guide Recommend from 2012 to 2018 and Michelin Guide 2019

Established in 2008.
