About the Business

Axe and the Oak Distillery began with five friends sipping a pour of bourbon after a hard days work, around a fire, cigar in hand, with a dream of making their own one day. After working on the mash bill for years, they finally found the perfect bourbon recipe. They contacted a local Colorado farmer about grains, built most of their distilling equipment by hand, and got to work. Right out of the gate Axe and the Oak Bourbon started winning awards.

After three years of making this unique and delicious bourbon, it was time to open a tasting room. But this couldn't be a run of the mill tasting room. It had to be a place for people to look each other in the eye and have an engaging conversation. This brings us to Axe and the Oak Whiskey House. As you spend time in this space we hope you'll experience more than good whiskey, we hope you'll find warmth, good times, and community.

Axe and the Oak, made to be shared. Crafted for community.

Established in 2013.
