About the Business

Edel & Simon started the business in 2007 and we soon grew to fill our old premises in Wright Avenue. In 2014 we purchased the what was the the Polish Ex Serviceman Club in the old village of Stanground. Previously the building was the rectory to the neighbouring St John the Baptist church. Over the next year we worked to renovate and convert the building before moving in in September 2015.
We have continued to grow since then, with three clinic room we now have sports massage therapists and also offer Chiropractic, Sports Massage and Acupuncture services.

At the Ashwood Chiropractic Clinic we practice Chiropractic using the McTimoney technique. Our approach is a whole body approach, assessing the whole skeletal system at each visit. Chiropractic is a method of adjusting the bones of your body to help decrease pain and other symptoms such as numbness and tingling. At the Ashwood Chiropractic Clinic we use only our hands to assess and to treat you.

Edel grew up and spent most of her adult life in Dublin, Ireland, where she worked in the Post Office in an administrative capacity.  She comes from a family background of complimentary medicine.  Edel stumbled upon McTimoney Chiropractic after a chance conversation with an acquaintance about a career move.  She investigated the treatment and was drawn to the 'whole body' approach of the McTimoney method.  After one treatment Edel knew that this was the career that she wanted to pursue and 2 months later she started at the college in Oxfordshire from where she gained a first class honors degree. She has been involved in chiropractic for over 10 years.  Edel has attended many courses in advanced McTimoney techniques and has incorporated these in her treatment.
