A partial list includes 2005 - 2011 Arturo's Uptown Italiano, 2001 - 2005 Beso Restaurant, 1997 Esquire Magazine "Best New Restaurant" (Solero), 1997 USA Today's "Best New Restaurant" (Solero); 1998 Houston Press "Best Sangria and Best of Houston"; 1998 Latina Magazine "Best Hot Spot" in Houston; 1998 James Beard Foundation's Guest Chef, 2000 Inside Houston magazine's Houston's Top Chefs, and 1999, 2000, 2001 First Place - International Paella Contest. Chef Boada's La Mer Restaurant also won the prestigious Esquire Magazine "Best Restaurants in America" award in 1990, and in 1992 he was designated as one of the "Top Rising Star Chefs in America" by Food & Wine Magazine.
