About the Business

In 2008, I listened to my soul and decided it was time to start a new journey. I was inspired by the growing underground movement of naturally textured curly hair. Already, 60% of my clients had curly hair. So, I went out on my own as an independent stylist with the goal to begin rebuilding my clientele to be exclusively naturally textured curly hair. In six months, I had reached my goal of 100% curly. A friend of mine suggested I should open a salon and call it Ambushed. So in 2010, I opened the doors to Ambushed Salon in the Short North. Since then, we have moved to the beautiful Creekside area in Gahanna and continue to work to bring you the best team of Curl Specialists to care for your curls. I have also launched the Ambushed Curl Academy so that I may share my passion for education with stylists across the globe. It's been a long journey but I have never felt more satisfied with my career since my decision to redirect my focus to helping others embrace their curls.

Therefore, our Curl Specialists tailor each service specifically to your unique curls. We welcome all types of curls- everything from beachy waves to kinky-afro textures and everything in between! This means our clientele is made up of a wide variety of diverse, multicultural curl textures. Because not every curl requires the same approach, we use both wet and dry cutting techniques to provide the best results for your curls. Our passion for education ensures you'll leave with a personalized plan to support you with at home care, including products and styling tips. Founder and Curl Specialist, Amy Bush, is passionate about bringing out the unique beauty in curly and naturally textured hair. She has used her 30+ years of training and experience to develop her own techniques and has put together a fantastic team of Curl Specialists who share the vision and talent you've been asking for. Using Keune hair color and products from Innersense, Kevin.Murphy, Wonder Curl, 2 Girls with Curls and LivSo, we will treat you and your curls the way you were meant to be treated, so you love the natural you. We can't wait to meet you and support you on your Curl Journey!
