About the Business

We started up because our founder Alynn, grew up in Okinawa, Japan. They missed the Konbini’s and bakeries in Aeon and after several years working in restaurants, decided to try and replicate the joy of eating Japanese sweet breads for others to experience. They believe in baking treats for everyone as well as the market for Gluten Free and vegan deserts is expanding.

Established in 2022.

Business Owner

Alynn M. (Business Owner)

Hi there! I’m Alynn, the founder/owner of Amai Ume Bakery. I spent 10 years growing up in Okinawa as a military brat. I love all the different Asian bakeries in AZ but there were still some things missing that I was craving and wanted to share with others. I’m a queer business owner (I use they/he pronouns) and as such I wanted to be able to serve my community by making cakes for any occasion as well!
