Mike Short has been in the electrical industry since 1970, beginning as an Apprentice, getting licensed as a Journeyman Electrician, then as a Master Electrician. After gaining much experience under the tutelage of several quality contractors, he opened AC Electric in 1984. This locally owned and operated electrical contracting business has been serving homeowners and business owners now for over 26 years. Currently we employ highly qualified Journeyman and Master Electrical techs who know not only the electrical trade, but how to treat our customers with respect. Mike Short was raised in South and Central Texas, graduating from Halletsville High School in 1968. After moving to Austin that same year, he soon enrolled in IBEW's Electrical Apprentice program, completing it in 1974, when he was licensed as a Journeyman Electrician.  He gained invaluable experience under the tutelage of several well-respected contractors in the Austin area before gaining his Master Electrician license.  He married Debi Mayfield in 1976 and they became partners in the daily operations of the business when he opened AC Electric in 1984.
